Direct Design Assistance: Common Ground Meditation Center

Common Ground Meditation Center is located in the Seward neighborhood of Minneapolis . They recently purchased a building to be the new home of their center. The building is currently surrounded by asphalt and a parking lot. They are interested in removing the unneeded asphalt to create garden space for their center. The garden space will be a place for outdoor meditation and will also serve to welcome visitors to the building. They asked the Design Center to create design options for the landscape surrounding the building.

The Design Center created two options for the site that included meditation paths/walkways, gateways/passageways, privacy screening for the meditation area, outdoor seating areas, and rain gardens and other garden areas exploring color and texture.
