Direct Design Assistance: Workshop featuring Jim Durrett on Metropolitan Atlanta, April 2007

Metropolitan Atlanta: from Poster Child for Sprawl to Laboratory for Innovations in Growth

Join us for a workshop, cosponsored by 1000 Friends of Minnesota, that examines why and how Atlanta is organizing itself to accommodate its tremendous growth in ways that are unconventional but necessary. Jim will engage us in an interesting story of how this high-growth region is coming to grips with its many growth issues and is marshalling its resources to address them. Housing affordability, transportation, land use, green space, environmental, and public health issues come together with the consideration and adoption of new models for growth.

Monday, April 30, 2007 4:00-6:00 p.m.
The workshop is free but registration is REQUIRED. Please RSVP to David Lowe at 612-625-9000 or by email at lowex005@umn.edu by April 24.
