Past Projects : 2001 – 2003 : I-35W Coalition

Since 1996 the Design Center has worked with seven suburban communities in the Twin Cities north metro, as part of a collaborative planning effort. With a joint powers agreement in place, the North Metro I-35W Corridor Coalition coordinates land-use, transportation, and development plans to achieve common subregional goals for livable communities. To date, the Design Center has worked with the coalition to produce a coordinated GIS system––Livable Community Information System (LCIS)––a subregional build-out study, and other development studies and projects.

Some of the work with the Coalition was part of the Community Connections Project. Design Center files from this project were donated to the Northwest Architectural Archives in 2005.
