Publications: Community Development Models

Community Development Models
The development models presented here demonstrate several alternatives for building livable, environmentally-sensitive and transit-friendly communities across a large metropolitan region such as the Twin Cities. Some of the models are old, while others are new and under construction. The recently built examples reflect efforts by contemporary developers to implement creative and responsible standards of urban design. We selected these models to represent a range of geographical locations and types, from urban mixed-use streetcar corner, to first-ring industrial complex, and third-ring, large-lot housing development.
